After a long time of being absent, normality has returned to Paris. All of the biggest fashion brands are excited to showcase their latest collection on a runway with a live audience. Celebrities, models, and fashionistas all flew to Paris and experienced fashion at its finest.
Pyer Moss:
As the first black American designer to be invited to Paris Couture Week, Kerby Jean Raymond definitely shocked the world. This couture collection isn’t any ordinary one, it was a tribute to black people and black history. Raymond honored legendary black artists’ and inventors’ creations through the highest level of craftsmanship. With each look, Pyer Moss highlighted creations like chess, foldable chair, lamp, and hair roller. Not only did Raymond bring black culture to Paris, he also designed some spectacular gowns, suits and jackets.

Balenciaga:
After six years as the Creative Director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia debuted his first Haute Couture this month. For the inspiration, Gvasalia returned to Balenciaga’s roots and dipped into its archives. He reimagined the iconic silhouette of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s works and made it more fit for today. The main focus of this collection was to display the strong shapes and the pure craftsmanship of Haute Couture technique. Sticking to Balenciaga classic oversized style, Gvasalia created black gowns, suits, coats with a pop of color throughout the collection.

Valentino:
Known for his color combination, Pierpaolo Piccioli never disappoints when it comes to Haute Couture collections. Valentino delivered a perfect show and displayed great fashion. One special thing about this collection is that Piccioli collabed with many different artists for patterns on the clothes. While there were beautiful constructed gowns, coats and dresses, there were also many different men's looks like pants, scarves and jackets. The color palette and patterns were the true show stopper. With every look that stepped out onto the runway, Valentino delivered a fantastic show for the fashion industry to see.

Schiaparelli:
For this season, Daniel Roseberry and Schiaparelli continued to deliver fashion at the highest level. The brand brought out a couture collection of avant-garde gowns, dresses and suits. The main theme for this collection was the mixing of gold/silver metal combining fabric to create clothes we have never seen before. Exploring with body jewelry, Roseberry designed metals breast plates, bustiers, and belts to give an edgy look to the soft fabrics. The first red carpet debut of the collection was at Cannes Movies festival, when Bella Hadid wore a low scoop, body-fitting dress with a golden lung-inspired necklace as a bustier. The fashion world was in awe at the beautiful creation.

Iris Van Herpen:
Iris Van Herpen is a staple in the couture world Being known for her avant garde, 3D printing method, Van Herpen is able to design masterpieces for every couture collection and this collection is no exception. Being inspired by shy-diving, the designer created pieces with flowy fabric that is constructed into an interesting silhouette. The looks almost resemble armor or dresses that are from another planet.
